Invoicing in Finty Software: Everything You Need to Know to Get Started

Create Invoice in Finty

Invoicing in Finty Software is a straightforward process that can save you time and help manage your finances more effectively. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to create, customize, and manage invoices within Finty.

Creating invoices in Finty Software is simple and efficient. By following these steps, you’ll be able to add services, products, and taxes to your invoices without any hassle. Whether you’re a small business owner or a repair technician, invoicing in Finty Software ensures that you can bill your clients accurately.

How to Create Invoices in Finty Software

First, let’s take a look at the list of issued repair tickets. For this example, let’s assume that one of these tickets includes a service or product provided to a customer. Now, let’s issue an invoice for it.

To begin, click on the “Insert Invoice” next to the customer’s name.

This will open a new window.

Finty Products and Services

As you can see, the customer’s name and details, along with the device they brought in for repair, are displayed at the top of the page. Additionally, there’s a ‘Ticket Status’ section, which plays a key role in invoicing in Finty Software. This section is particularly important because, whenever the technician starts working on the device, they need to update the status for each step of the repair process. This way, when the customer reloads the repair ticket link, they can stay informed about the latest status of their device. If you’re new to invoice creation in Finty, you can check out how to send a repair ticket link to customers here.

After that, you need to add the products and services provided to the invoice, making the invoicing process in Finty Software both efficient and organized.

Adding Products to the Invoice

To add products, click on the “Products” option. Then, select the product used during the repair from the “Product Title” section.

Finty Add Product to Invoice

Please note: If multiple products were used, you must add each one to the invoice individually.

From the product list, select the relevant product. However, if the product isn’t already in the list, you can easily add it using the “+” button. We’ve shared an article explaining how to add products to Finty—be sure to check it out.

Once you select a product, all related details—such as its purchase price and selling price—will auto-fill.

It’s important to note that the next four fields are non-editable. However, you can still update other fields. For instance:

  • Adjust the product price if needed.
  • Add any discounts you’ve offered.
  • Change the quantity of the product used.

In addition, you can also modify the salesperson’s name. As a result, the profit percentage will automatically adjust based on the salesperson.

Lastly, you can also update the tax type and percentage. To add or edit tax types, go to the “Tax” section in the settings menu.

After entering all the details, click “Save” to add the product to the invoice.

Adding Services to the Invoice

Adding services works similarly. Simply select the service from the list or, if it doesn’t exist, click the “+” button to add it.

When you select a service, all fields will auto-fill, just like with products. The difference, however, is that all fields in the service section are editable. For example:

  • You can adjust the service price.
  • Add discounts, if any.
  • Change the name of the technician who provided the service.
  • Update the technician’s profit percentage.

Additionally, you can also modify the tax type and percentage for the services. Finty allows you to apply different tax types to products and services on the same invoice, giving you greater flexibility.

Adding Extra Costs to the Invoice

If this invoice includes additional costs, such as packaging fees or shipping, you can add those through the “Costs” option.

Finty Add Costs

If the costs are already added to Finty, simply select them from the list. Otherwise, you can use the “+” button to add them directly to both the settings menu and the current invoice.

After adding the services, products and costs, don’t forget to update the ticket status at the top and repair status at the bottom of the page. For instance, change it to “Repaired,” then save the changes.
